Spin qubits based on NV centers

 

NV center is a point defect in diamond which has some specific properties that satisfies Divincenzo’s criteria as a quantum computer, but it has some disadvantage like a very little de-coherence time in room temprature due to the optical measurements procedures . So we introduce a semiconductor device SiC as an alternative host for NV defects that has same properties (which satisfies Divincenzo’s criteria) but also has some advantage with respect to diamond. its de-coherence time in room temperature is about millisecond , its spin states has intrinsic splitting based on zero point field and its optical excitement is near infrared rays . So we can access to the information units via variety of high technologies instrument like optical fibers .
